Welcome to the Drug and Alcohol Training Oracle. The All Wales Network and Collaborative Centre for the Promotion of Excellence for Education, Training & Development in Substance Misuse project is a Welsh Assembly initiative that aims to increase the use of the Drug and Alcohol National Occupational Standards (DANOS) in Wales. The Oracle has been set up by the Centre in order to assist workers in the substance misuse sector, by providing information on courses and other training opportunities that are currently available to help them meet their needs.

How can we help?

This site is aimed at providing help to anyone that would like to demonstrate that they are competent in the DANOS standards. It is important to note that demonstrating competence in a standard does not necessarily require people to have additional training or undertake a qualification. Competence can be demonstrated through existing appraisal processes or through other processes, such as being assessed by a person that is independently qualified.
